Richard Ray Ball 55, of Strong passed away peacefully Dec. 2, 2014 at UAMS surrounded by his family after seven hard months of battling illness. Richard Ray was born Jan.12,1959 in Winnfield, La. Graduating High School in Huttig, AR., he spent his adult life in the logging and trucking industry. He loved being in the woods. He and Dorothy spent many days fishing. He loved sharing in his children's sport activities. From coaching his daughter's softball teams to always with his sons on their racing endeavors. The Ball, family has always been involved in dirt track racing and Richard Ray's kids have followed in the family tradition.
Richard Ray was preceded in death by his father, James Richard Ball.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia "Memaw" and his wife Dorothy Ball of 30+ years; 2 sons; Waylon, wife Halie, and Joel, wife Summer. One daughter; Patricia, husband Matthew. He had 9 grandchildren; Wyatt, Hayden, Lawson, Benton, Brair, Natalie, Hope, Mattison and Ashlynn which he loved surrounding himself with. Two brothers, James Alvin and Darren Keith Ball whom he was very close with.
Richard Ray loved his family. He was blessed with his Mom living with him and Dorothy the last few years. Seeing his children success in life and love completed his life.
Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at New London Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Friday, December 5, 2014 at the church with Bro. Jody Jackson officiating with burial to follow at Harper Springs Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
