Richard "Ricky" Houston  Phelps Sr., 53 of Strong passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at his residence. Ricky was born on January 4, 1967 in Crossett to Houston Daniel Phelps and LaFran Ballard Phelps. He was an employee at El Dorado Chemical for the past 33 years. In his free time, he enjoyed riding around with his friends, gardening and shooting the breeze with anyone who would listen. Ricky had a passion for hunting and fishing, but his two sons were his one true love.

Preceding him in death are his father; brother, Thomas Wayne Phelps; and his grandparents.

Survivors include his sons, Zach Barentine and Richard Houston Phelps Jr.; brother, Steve Phelps (Tasha); niece, Julie Phelps; aunts, Billie Marie Sawyer (BP) and Peggy Hiser; uncle Robert Ballard (Dianne); and his very special friends, Chuck and Bosco.

In keeping with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings there will be no Public Visitation or Services at this time. A Private Family Graveside will be held at Ebenezer Presbyterian Cemetery officiated by Bro. Scott Young under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
