"Bob" Garner Jr.
July 4, 1954 – December 5, 2019
Robert R (Bob) Garner Jr., 65, of 22 Lequita Place, Hot Springs Village and former resident of El Dorado, and Smackover, AR, son of Robert and Pearl Garner, was born on July 4, 1954 in El Dorado, AR and moved to his heavenly home on December 5, 2019.
He is survived by his loving wife Aprile McGee Garner. They were married in Smackover, AR on June 4, 1977, and shared more than 42 years of love, faith, and family.
Upon his graduation from Smackover High School in 1972, he served in the US Navy. After discharge he attended Louisiana Tech University and earned a BS in chemical engineering. Before retirement Bob was Chief Operating Officer of Gabriel Performance Products in Ashtabula, OH where he was a member of Eagleville Bible Church.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Sara Garner Eisenburg of El Dorado, son and daughter-in-love Bob and Christina Garner of Friendswood, TX; daughter and son-in-love Kassie and Jason Aborn of El Dorado; grandchildren Tucker, Joy, Rhys, Mercy, Gabriel, Gideon, Bella, and Ali; sister Lynn Dixon of El Dorado; parents Bob and Pearl Garner of El Dorado; and many additional family members and friends across the country.
Bob was a wonderful husband, amazing dad, loving Boompaw, faithful friend, and phenomenal creative culinary master. He had the natural ability to be for his family and friends exactly what they needed at the time. As the king of the surprise vacation, he provided his family with many adventures and life-long memories. His trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and the desire to praise God is a legacy to all those who knew and loved him.
Visitation with be held at West Side Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR, on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 12:00 PM followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to West Side Christian School Science Department, 2400 W Hillsboro, El Dorado, AR, 71730.
