Robert W. Stanford 72, of El Dorado passed away Thursday August 21, 2014 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born in Lapanto, Arkansas on October 14, 1940. He was a truck driver by trade ,working for various companies mostly in the oilfield before his retirement.

Robert was a man of strong faith. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was tinker with things or gardening or occasionally going fishing he enjoyed spending his time with nature. He also was a big fan of wrestling and enjoyed watching it on television for entertainment.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; Ollie Bell Jones Stanford and Bartely "Bud" Stanford, a sister; Stella Flowers and a brother; Junior Stanford.

Left behind to celebrate his life is his wife of over 30 years, Maggie Stanford, his children; James "Tinker" Langston (Karen) ,Ricky Langston, Kenneth Langston, Jerry Langston (Lesia), Pam Kelley (Kasey), Paula Stanford, Jackie Stephens, Robbie Stanford, Ann Stephens, Cindy Stanford and Fred Stephens, 2 brothers; Isom Stanford and Jessie Stanford, and 2 sisters; Fannie Thomas, and Lilly Golden (Alvin), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will 10am Saturday 23, 2014 at New London Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Oakland, Louisiana under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
