Obituary

Roy J. Fife, 97, of Louann, Arkansas went to be with the LORD, early Wednesday morning January 4, 2012 at his home of 63 years. He was born in Moro Bay on October 12, 1914 to Ben and Minnie Shinpock Fife.
He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father and an aide to any person in need.
Early in Mr. Fife's career he was employed by Citi Service Oil Company. As a derrick hand, we remember him telling stories of how he could run to the top of a 100foot derrick without stopping to catch his breath. After years of service with them he quit that job instead of moving the family to a foreign land, South Texas, and began working for the Smackover Public School as the maintenance mechanic where he retired in 1980. Even though he retired he did not quit working. Mr. Fife served the city of Louann as a Council Member and kept the small town clean by working for a total of 51 years combined service in Louann.
An avid hunter and fisherman with trophy's and tales to prove it, Mr. Fife was hard to beat.
He was a devoted supporter of Cornerstone Church in Smackover and knew Our Lord, Jesus Christ, as his personal Savior for many years. He spent a lifetime serving others so that the love of Christ might be passed on for generations to come.
Mr. Fife served his country well in the Army during tough times in World War II. The presidential citation, a silver medal and five bronze medals were among a few of his awards. The Battle of the Bulge was one of the stories he vividly remembered and could recant it to any that would listen.
Mr. Fife is survived by his daughter Marilyn Frachiseur of Louann; his son Tommy Fife and his wife, Deborah Riggs Fife, of Camden; one sister, Allie Fife Gorman of Gainesville, Georgia; two grandsons, Kelly Frachiseur of Rogers; Ken Frachiseur of Clearwater, Florida; two granddaughters, Millie Eubanks and husband William (Bubba) Eubanks of Water Valley, Mississippi; Mollie Willett and husband Keith Willett of Smackover; six great grandchildren, Will, Megan and Millie Grace Eubanks, and Mason, Karli and Eli Willett. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Millie "Olga" Fife, his parents, Ben and Minnie Fife; four brothers, Chester Fife, Elray Fife, Marvin "Bill" Fife and Bennie Fife; two sisters, Dorothy May Fife and Annie Dell Fife and son-in-law Paul Frachiseur.

Funeral Service's will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Cornerstone Church with Bro.Danny Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
