Ruby Lee Brister Palmer, 78, of El Dorado, left this life on Monday February 23, 2009 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born on June 5, 1930 in Sicily Island, Lousiana and is the daughter of Joseph Laney Brister and Courtney Cornelia Towsend. She was a broiler grower working in the Poultry Industry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman Palmer, a son Doug Howell, one sister and four brothers, and a daughter-in-law; Sandy Howell.

Survivors include a son Jerry Howell of Smackover, Arkansas, daughters; Brenda Melton and husband James of Kaufman, Texas, and Chantay Alexander and husband Benny of Smackover, brothers; Leo Brister of North Carolina, and Kenneth Brister of Boga Chita, Mississippi, sisters; Evelyn Steele of Meadvillle, Mississippi, and Wessie Temple of Meadville, Mississippi, grandchildren; J.J. Melton, Heather Litton, Jessica Howell, Dakotah Alexander, and Hiland Alexander, great grandchildren; Makenzie Litton, Billie Litton and Megon Litton.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday February 25, 2009 at Crossroads Cemetery near Smackover with Rev. Lawrence Harrison officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm til 8:00pm on Tuesday February 24th at Perry's Funeral Chapels.
