Obituary

Shalina Rae Willis, age 50, of Stephens lost the battle with cancer and passed away peacefully in
the arms of her daughter Crystal Willis, on Monday November 11, 2024, surrounded by her
family, and pets that she so dearly loved. She was born November 25, 1973, and is preceded in death by parents Bobbie and Jim Burgeson.
She is survived by her three children Justin Willis (Jennifer) of Ringold, Louisiana,
Brandon Willis (Lilly) of Eldorado, and Crystal Willis (Mason) of El Dorado, AR; eight sisters Debbie Fields of Stephens, Linda Moran of Clarksville, TX, Sheila Honeycutt (Leland) of Stephens, Tamara Stafford (William "Bubba") of Monticello, Melissa Stafford (JW) of Hampton, and Michelle Thomas (Bo) of Stephens, Juanita Lowery (Micheal) of White Settlement, TX, Danita Smith of Spring Town, TX; two adopted siblings, Amber Haycox (Michael) of Monticello, and Chris Martin of Stephens; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Shalina was whole heartedly devoted to and loved her five grandchildren with everything she had and loved spending time with her family, her beloved pets Naveah and G-Pup, and she enjoyed gardening, arts & crafts, and was able to find ways to make people laugh even when they were down; she was a comedian in many ways. The memories of her personality and how she touched many lives throughout her life will forever remain in the hearts of those she spent time with, laughed with, and the joy she brought to many will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed.
Shalina fought this horrible indiscriminate disease for the last three years and made every effort
she could to beat it. The family wants to show their gratitude and appreciation for those that
sacrificed their time to care for Shalina over the course of the last three years. Niece Monica Pope and sister Michelle Thomas both took her care serious and provided that care with unconditional love. The last few months of her life she was surrounded by so much love, care, and support even through the most trying of times. To both Monica and Michelle, thank you for your love and support.
The family plans to have a private memorial to celebrate what would have been her 51st birthday
at her sister's home in Stephens on Sunday November 24, 2024. Any friends or family are welcome to attend.
