IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon
Sanders
January 16, 1958 – October 26, 2025
Sharon Denise Sanders, age 67, of Strong, AR passed from this life October 26, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. Sharon was born January 16, 1958 in Marion, LA to the late Hermes and Nell Johnson.
Sharon Sanders, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived a life full of laughter, faith, and love for the simple joys that made every day special.
A lifelong member of 2nd Avenue Missionary Baptist Church of Strong, Sharon's faith guided her throughout her life. Her church family was dear to her heart, and she was always a steady presence in the congregation.
Sharon was happiest outdoors, with a fishing pole in her hand or sitting by the campfire. She loved camping trips and quiet days by the water, often sharing those moments with family and friends. Her grandsons were her pride and joy — there was nothing she loved more than spending time with them, watching them grow, and sharing her stories and snacks.
She had a spirited love for life and a bit of an adventurous streak. Sharon loved taking trips to Hot Springs and Branson, making memories and enjoying the sights. In recent years, she found comfort in watching her favorite westerns on TV, often with a cold cherry Diet Dr. Pepper nearby.
When it came to food, Sharon knew exactly what she liked — Coneys and cheeseburgers from Ramona's and Sonic were her go-to favorites. She adored her family deeply, and she'd often joke that her sons-in-law were her favorite, a title they proudly held.
Eccentric and full of personality, Sharon had a knack for collecting just about everything — a reflection of her colorful spirit and her appreciation for life's little treasures. For years, she also raised pitbull dogs, treating them with the same care and loyalty she showed to everyone she loved.
Sharon Sanders will be remembered for her humor, her heart, and her unshakable love for family, faith, and the outdoors. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Phyllis Burg; and one brother Donnie Gregory.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her husband Sam Sanders; two daughters Angel Graves (Timmie), and Chasity Gates (Brandon); two grandchildren Jacob (JT) Black (Chelsea), and Lucas Gates; one great-grandson Kayden Black; three brothers Harold Harvey, Doodle Harvey, Ronnie Gordon (Brenda); one sister Janice New; caregiver Ginetta Bridges; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services in her honor will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the 2nd Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Strong, AR, Pastor John Franklin officiating, interment following at Sweet Home Cemetery in Strong, AR. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the church.
