Rev. Terrell O.B. Harrison II (Brother Terry) of El Dorado, AR passed away at age 75 on Monday morning, December 3, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House following a struggle with acute Leukemia.
Born on October 29, 1943 in Sacramento, California, he was the son of Terrell O.B. Harrison and Gladys Louise Painter Harrison. A former engineer for General Dynamics in Ft. Worth, TX and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Brownsville, TX. Brother Terry was called to the ministry of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in 1973, subsequently earning dual Master's Degrees in Divinity and Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. He served as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Morrilton, AR for 1 ½ years, and Southside Baptist Church in El Dorado for 38 years. He loved sharing Jesus, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. As well as supporting the numerous activities of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In recent years, he also became an avid El Dorado Wildcat Basketball fan.
He was predeceased by both parents; his brother, John Lester Harrison; and one son, Nathan Alan Harrison.
Surviving him are his wife of 52 years, Dixie Louise Virtue Harrison; two sons: Terrell (Terry) O.B. Harrison III (Ramona) of Macedonia, AR & Kevin Daniel Harrison (Lauren) of El Dorado; two daughters: Sherri Lynne Harrison Brown (Richard) of El Dorado & Kera Dawn Harrison Sanders (John) of Saginaw, TX; grandchildren; Courtney Lynne Harrison Head (Heath), Kesh, Koen, and Kya Rankin, Greenlee, Oakleigh, and Driven Harrison, Nathan Brown, Jacob and Nicole Sanders; and great-grandchildren: Kayden Bolton, Brooklyn Dopson, Cade & Kyler Head; and Addison Dopson; as well as his sister, Marsha Louise Harrison Vallie of Ft. Worth, TX; and many beloved, nieces, nephews, cousins, and children in Christ.
The Memorial Service for Brother Terry will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Southside Baptist Church, 901 South Washington in El Dorado. Brother Bob Inmon, Chaplain for Lifetouch Hospice will Share perspectives from God's Word. The family thanks Perry's Funeral Chapels for their direction and preparations.
