Thomas W. "Tommy" Fairris, 57, of Strong passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born on March 12, 1962 in El Dorado to Sam and Peggy Taunton Fairris. At the age of 16 Tommy began working in the Oil and Gas Industry. He would work weekends and Summer Vacations with Urbana Well Service. From there he went on to work the offshore drilling rigs and later worked as a Side Boom Operator for the Pipelines for over 26 years.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Henry and Addie Laura Fairris and his maternal grandparents, Phares and Cornelia Taunton.

Survivors include parents; sister, Donna McHenry (Robert); sister/cousin, Janis Peterson Waller (Danny); nephews, Matthew and Brent McHenry (Courtney); great nieces, Maggie and Kallie McHenry; special friend, Charlotte Sigler; many cousins; three uncles; and one aunt.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Perry's Funeral Chapels. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Old Lapile Cemetery officiated by Bro. Mike Hardin.

The family would like to give a special thanks to a couple of exceptional friends Michael Norsworthy and Bosco Williams for their care in the past, J.P. Mobley APN and staff for their excellent care, and Life Touch Hospice for their care and compassion.
