Tina Kinard Roark, 51 of El Dorado passed away May 23, 2013 at her home in El Dorado after an extraordinary 14 year battle with cancer. She was born April 20, 1962 in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Carlton "Andy" Kinard and late Wanda Murray Kinard. Tina was the wife of Gary Roark and was a devoted mother to Jake Roark. Her family includes one sister; Cindy Mitcham Bush of Spearsville, Louisiana and two brothers; Steve Kinard of El Dorado and Gary Kinard of El Dorado. She was the daughter-in-law of Hershel and Kitty Roark of Shreveport, LA and David and Joyce Horsby of Spearsville, LA.
Tina was a member of Parkers Chapel Baptist Church, and a graduate of SAU in El Dorado. She was a business owner in El Dorado for 20 years. Tina was a humanitarian, involved herself in helping to advance society with her commitment and participation thru promoting awareness of breast cancer research, detection and management. She was a leader of El Dorado's Breast Friends support group and participated in various community fund rasiers to promote the continued efforst of the American Cancer Society. She served yearly on the patient panel for the UAMS residency program facilitating the residents understanding of the cancer patient experience in efforts to improve patiendt care and outcomes. Participated in various research programs including the sister study research at Creighton University and the Trial drug studies for management of genetically linked cancers at Cedar-Sinai. Tina was honored with the award of "The Five Who Care" by the community of El Dorado due to her concern and involvement in community services.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. at Marrable Hill Chapel, Friday, May 24.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00a.m. Saturday, May 25 with Larry Hudson officiating with burial to follow at Old Hillsboro Cemetery under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
