Truman Len Burns, 72, of Strong passed away on December 31, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness..
Len was born August 1, 1944 in El Dorado to the late Truman and Leola Calloway Burns. Len was a graduate of Strong High School were he excelled in football and track. He attended Arkansas Police academy in Camden, Ar. Served as the law enforcement officer for Strong as well as a deputy Marshal for Union County for 17 years. He was an active member
Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Strong, AR. Len was an avid dog man, hunter and fisherman. He will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Barbara Gandy Burns; Grand-daughter, Katelynn Burns.
Lens survivors include two sons, Michael Burns (Mila) and Wadie Burns; one daughter, Melinda Burns Castillo; one sister, Connie Burns Sherrill; eight grand-children, Trace Burns, Justin Burns, Jaycie Burns, Kelly Burns, Kendyl Burns, Lily Burns, Seth Burns, Garrett Castillo; one great grandchild, Patience Burns; a very special friend, Pam Westbrook; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Trace Burns, Steve Calloway, David Sinclair, Chuck Johnston, Justin Burns and Garrett Castillo.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 3 from 6 - 8 pm at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2016 also at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Malone and Bro. Tommy Nash officiating.
Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery under direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
