Vella Mae Griffin, 86, passed away in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at St. John Residential Care Homes. She was a resident of El Dorado for most of her life before moving to Texas City and later to Fort Worth to be close to family.  She was born August 12, 1934, to the late Kermit C. Bridges and Mozell McGaugh Bridges.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, Malcolm Lee Griffin and brother, John Thomas Bridges.

Vella is survived by her daughter, Sandy Toups (Dr. Matt Toups); two grandchildren, Dr. Nolan Toups (Megan Toups) and Mandy Lester (Whit Lester) and two great-granddaughters, Ella and Phoebe Lester.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Perry's Funeral Chapels. Graveside Service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, October 16, 2020 with Bro. Benji McCann officiating at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
