Vera Whatley Pennington, 66, of Junction City passed away on December 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born on October 24, 1954 in Jena, Louisiana to the late Houston R. Whatley and Bessie Patterson Green. Vera loved watching mystery tv shows, had a collection of red birds and sunflowers, but her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents and brother, Jackie Whatley.

Survivors include a son, Chris Pennington and his wife Krystal of Camden; daughters, Lisa Pennington of Junction City, Stacy Sweet and her husband, Brad of Junction City,  Destiny Griffith of Spartansburg, South Carolina; grandchildren, Chance Norris and his wife, Jamie, Dekota Sweet, Chastity Norris, James Pennington, Harley Pennington, Shiloh Sweet, Bryan Lenz, and Hunter Winters; great-grandchild, Cora Norris; Brothers, Wayne Patterson and his wife, Ann, Rickey Whatley and his wife, Carolyn and Adam Whatley and his wife, Jennifer; sister, Trenna Hux; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Corney Creek Baptist Church located at 10281 Haynesville Hwy Junction City, AR 71749. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday December 14, 2020 at Beech Grove Cemetery.
