Verdie "Bubbie" Darden Phillips 88, of El Dorado passed away Friday December 28, 2012 at her home. She was born May 8, 1944 in Lisbon. She is the daughter of Lem "Jinks" Thomas Darden and Mary "Monkey" Jeton Darden. She was a caring and loving homemaker who devoted her life to raising her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, J.W. Phillips, a granddaughter, Doris Renea Hayes, and twelve brothers and sisters.

Survivors include son, Larry Phillips (Betty) daughter, Doris Hayes (Tommy), two sisters, Thelma Smith and Berdie Nipper, grandchildren, Kim Benson, Keith Hayes, Scott Phillips (Jodi), Stephanie Thurmon (Keith), Karen Lindsey (Greg), eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5pm -7pm Sunday December 30, 2012 at Perry's Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday December 31, 2012 at Perry's Funeral Chapels with Jason Yarbrough and Tommy Nash officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Scott Phillips, Greg Lindsey, Jacob Thurmon, Jay Brown, Keith Thurmon, and Keith Hayes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Benson and Dillion Hayes. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.
