Virginia (Ginny) Ann Smith Cary passed away on March 1,2026. Ginny was born on August 1, 1945, to Leslie B. and Ruby Nell (Barksdale) Smith of Mt. Holly. She was married on August 17, 1968, to James Otis Cary of El Dorado. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Ginny previously worked as a secretary for Murphy Oil Corporation, T & T Chemical, and for OCAW Local 5-434, as well as a caring mother and homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Carolyn Brian of Pasadena, TX.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Otis, her two sons Kahle Cary of Calion, and Greg Cary (Stacie) of Three Creeks, sister Peggy Lybarger of El Dorado, granddaughter Addison Cary of Three Creeks, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Perry’s Funeral Chapel on Wednesday March 4, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and graveside services will be held on Thursday March 5, 2026, at 11:00 am at Arlington Memorial Park in El Dorado. In lieu of flowers donations can be given in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice or the Immanuel Baptist Church of El Dorado building fund. An online registry can be signed at
