Wayne (Bubba) Caldwell was born on October 20, 1964, in Texarkana, TX. He went to his forever home, surrounded by his loved ones, on June 29,2019, in the home of his mother.
He was the son of Bill Caldwell and Cheryl Crocker Morgan. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Radford Crocker and Helen Worthington Taylor, and Mark and Elsie Reynolds Caldwell. He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Morgan (John Head) of El Dorado, grandmother Patricia Crocker of Dallas, TX. Sisters Cindy Saulsbury and Kelly Jones-Wilson (Tim), Nephews Jacob Harrod (Jade), Kaden Wayne and Karson Jones all of El Dorado. Niece Megan Tamez (Jacob) of Houston, TX. Beloved cousins Todd Crocker, Dallas, TX, and Mark Crocker, Simms, TX. Uncle James Gifford (Nicky) of Midland TX, aunt Katie Gifford of Dallas, TX.
Special deaf friends included, Alicia, Allen, Audrey and Clayton.
Wayne overcame physical obstacles most of his life and he fought for the last four and a half years a battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He continually and adamantly asserted that God would take care of him throughout his illness and He did.
Wayne was a 1983 graduate of the Arkansas School for the Deaf, he received a CAD certification from Vocational/technical school in Hot Springs, AR, and an AA in religious studies from Boyce Bible College in Louisville, KY.
Wayne accepted Christ at age 14 and was baptized at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR, where he continued to be a member until he moved for college. Wayne was a faithful servant of God, he loved Christian history and read and researched extensively on the subject.
Wayne loved to share his faith and knowledge with his deaf friends and he actually witnessed regularly to the unchurched among them. While Wayne was studying for his AA in religious studies in Louisville, KY, he was ordained as a deacon in his church.
Wayne moved to Seattle where he worked as a houseparent in a group home for multi-handicapped deaf adults. Wayne loved that work and those he worked with.
Wayne moved to El Dorado in 1992 and joined Immanuel Baptist Church. Wayne loved his church and was involved with his Sunday School class and other activities of the church. He had a special love for his "sister" LouAnne Emrich, who faithfully interpreted for him all those years.
Wayne loved missions and made two trips to Honduras and one to Russia to bring the word of God to the deaf in those countries. His love of travel included his desire to visit all 50 states, he was able to visit 38 in his lifetime.
Wayne loved sports, with the Razorbacks and Seahawks being his favorite teams. He enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid collector of many things, but had a special love for all things Volkswagen. He had a fantastic rhythm and loved music. He enjoyed learning about the bands and their members. When he was younger he loved going to concerts where he always came home with a T-shirt.
Wayne never married and had no children; he did, however, have two dogs, Little and Sweet, for 16 years. He thought of "his girls" as his children. They were his faithful companions.
Wayne was dearly loved by many and his absence will leave a void in many lives.
