Obituary

Wayne Forrest Miller (80), of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed away on March 21, 2025, at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, following a brief illness. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Wayne was escorted with honor during the Walk of Honor as a tribute to his service.

Born December 11, 1944, in El Dorado to Woodrow "Woody" and Patricia Miller, Wayne grew up in the oil fields of South Arkansas, where he learned the values of hard work and perseverance. He graduated from Norphlet High School in 1963 and served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. It was during his military service that he met the love of his life, Phyllis, at Howard Gibson's store in El Dorado. They married on December 31, 1965, and enjoyed 59 wonderful years together.

After his military service, Wayne worked as a lineman for Entergy, dedicating 30 years to restoring power across Arkansas, especially during storms such as tornadoes and ice storms. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, Wayne also loved pulling pranks, bringing joy to those around him.

A devout Christian, Wayne's faith was the foundation of his life. He was committed to his family and made sure they were raised in the church. Wayne also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and attending air shows with his brother, Roger, sharing his love of aviation.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; his brother, Roger Miller (Audree) of Sherwood, Arkansas; his children, Phillip Miller (Katrina) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Donna Farish (Dan) of El Dorado, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Alyssa Nalley (Bryce) of Benton, Arkansas, Austin Miller (Elizabeth) of Camden, Arkansas, Abbi Mason (Ethan) of Paragould, Arkansas, Hayleigh Lewis (Wade) of El Dorado, Arkansas, Dani Farish of Magnolia, Arkansas, and Ethan Farish of El Dorado, Arkansas; two great-grandsons, Miller and Luke Nalley; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Wayne.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in El Dorado, Pastor Greg Tucker officiating, internment following at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Wayne's honor to Samaritan's Purse.

Wayne's warmth, love for his family, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those he touched.
