Wayne Edmond Whatley, 62, died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Good Shepherd Medical
Hospital in Longview, Tx.
Wayne was born December 18, 1945 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was the son of Rufus
Edmond Whatley (deceased), and Laura Bess Simpson Whatley who lives ind Hallsville, Tx
Wayne Whatley attended school at Norphlet, Arkansas and attended his senior year where he
graduated at West Monroe High in West Monroe, Louisiana. Wayne worked for General Motors
Corporation at the Shreveport, Louisiana plant for 27 years and retired in 2006. Wayne lived in
Hallsville, Texas for 21 years with his wife Mary Whatley.
Preceding him in death are his father Rufus Edmond Whatley and a brother Ted Edmond
Whatley.
Survivors include his wife Mary Whatley of Hallsville, Tx, his mother Laura Bess Whatley, a
brother Raymond Edmond Whatley of El Dorado, Arkansas. His children Paige Beard of
Monroe, La., Neil Edmond Whatley and his wife Denise of Monroe, La. Lester DeWayne
Wedgeworth and his wife Paula of Hallsville, Tx, Pam Bullock and her husband Jimmy of
Hallsville,
Tx, Danny Whatley and Dankin Whatley of Hallsville, Tx. He is survived by 11 grandchildren
and 2 great-grandchildren, several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews. Best
friend of 27 years and co-worker Lynn Folmar and his wife and numerous other friends..
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Perry's Funeral Chapels
Burial will be at Sycomore Church of Christ Cemetery located on O'Rear Cut-Off Road
off Hwy 167 north outside of El Dorado, Ar.
