William G. "Bill" Richard 84, of El Dorado died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home. He was born in Elton, Louisiana on July 23, 1927 to Alpha Richard and Lorane Nuggent Richard.
Bill was a mechanical engineer working for Prescolite in California and El Dorado, before retiring in 1994.
After that he worked for L& R Contractors as a master cabinet maker and carpenter. He was past Commander at the American Legion for two years and was also the bar manager for many years. Bill was a WW2 Naval veteran. He loved sports and was a big Razorback fan. A wonderful father, grandfather and brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Joy Thelma Richard, and brother Frank Richard.
Survived by a son; Bill Richard (Glenda), three brothers; Leward Richard (Sugar), Joe (Inge) Richard and Ray (Marge) Richard, Two grandaughters; Christina (Dan) Hostetter and Shannon (Tony) Wood, Six great grandchildren; Kristen Hostetter, Daniel Hostetter, Jackson Hostetter, Ashton Drummond, Drew Drummond and Austin Drummond, one great, great grandchild Cameron Driggers, a special friend; Ima Jean Waller and loved by his nieces and nephews and everyone that knew him. A special thank you to Hudson Memorial Nursing Home and Hospice.
Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 11, 2011 at Arlington Cemetery with Billy Smith officiating, under the direction of Perry's Funeral Chapels.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Hostetter, Ashton Drummond, Drew Drummond, Austin Drummond, Jackson Hostetter, Dan Hostetter , Tony Wood and Honorary Pallbearer Cameron Driggers
