William Samuel Hall 78 of Lawson Arkansas, passed away at his home on August 18, 2021. He was born September 20, 1942, in Yell County Arkansas to the late William Robert Hall and Dorothy Marie Smith.
Sam, as he was known to his family and friends, was a graduated Mount Holly High School in 1960. He was a professional truck driver, a title he was very proud and honored to have. In 1994 he was selected as Professional Truck Driver of the year by Harold Ives Trucking Company. He loved to make people laugh and was always ready with a good joke or story. His other joys in life were his family gatherings, NHRA drag racing, and watching the Arkansas Razorback play football.
He was proceeded in death by his father William Robert Hall, mother Dorothy Marie Smith and stepfather Chester Smith. He was also proceeded in death by three daughters Tammie Hall, Christie McBroom, Elizabeth "Buffy" Pepper and an infant great granddaughter Hadley Calhoun.
He is survived by two sons Rusty (Jodie) Hall of Star City Arkansas, Sammy Hall of Hot Springs Arkansas, one daughter Terri Hall Williams of Eldorado Arkansas, one brother Randy (Dorothy) Smith of Mount Holly Arkansas, three sisters Linda (David) Tucker of Waldo Arkansas, Jimmie Hall Brown of Smackover Arkansas, Molly (Tony) Donahoe of Mount Holly Arkansas. Five grandsons Steven (Julia) Hall of Monticello Arkansas, Will (Tiffany) Calhoun of Rogers Arkansas, Josh Pepper Eldorado Arkansas, Joseph Pepper of Oklahoma, and Carson Williams of Camden Arkansas. Two granddaughters Morgan (Greg) Maharrey of Eldorado Arkansas, Chelsea Pepper of Eldorado Arkansas, seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family, and a special friend Linda Ashcraft.
A memorial is planned for September 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Lawson Baptist Church in Lawson, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Christopher Trucker Relief Fund or Life Touch Hospice Care. 09/2
