Willis Ray Proffitt, age 90, passed peacefully from this life early in the morning Saturday, January 20, 2024. Willis was born June 20, 1933 in Whitton, AR to the late William and Agnes Proffitt.

After graduating from Wilson High School in Wilson, AR Willis went into the army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict. He went on to become a very successful entrepreneur. He was known for being industrious. He was always ready with a joke. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. The family recalled he always kept a manicured lawn. He never passed up a good dessert. Although not much of a church goer, he was a Mason and a man of faith. He loved their chihuahuas, Sophie and Sassy, who stayed by his side all the way to the end.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Ray Proffitt, Billy Proffitt, Winfred Proffitt; two sisters Karen Proffitt, Betty-Jean Robertson; one granddaughter Kristen Barker-Proffitt; his wife of forty years Betty Nell Proffitt.

Those left to cherish his memory include:  his loving wife of twenty-six years Beverly Manning Proffitt; two daughters Cindy Smith and her husband Tony, Teresa Proffitt; one son Terry Minchow-Proffitt and his wife Sandy; six bonus children Moira Reeves and her husband Donnie, Tiffany Fisher and her husband Jake; Laura Wise, James Wise and his wife Lili, Darryl Wise and his wife Karyn, Michael Wise; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-eight great and great-great-grandchildren; six siblings; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held in his honor at 4:00pm Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado, AR. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to especially thank Beverly Jean Womack, James and Lili Wise, Moira and Donnie Reeves, Ruth Clark for their generous caregiving during his final days.

Serving as Pallbearers: Daniel Wise, Josh Wise, Jonathan Wise, Charles Wise, Garrett Wise, Greg Medlin, Reagan Berryman, Zachary Minchow-Proffitt, Benjamen Jack, John David Jack, and Hannah Minchow-Proffitt. Honorary Pallbearers include: Leroy Adams and Aaron Hoyle.
