Wilmor Dee Welch
Our beloved Daddy,Grandfather, Uncle and Mentor to many others, Wilmor Welch 84, of Hot Springs , and formerly of El Dorado died on December 25, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born October 24, 1929 to the late Albert and Callie Welch in Lisbon, Ar.
Wilmor was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church, of Hot Springs, Ar. and had a loving and caring church family.
He was in the United States Marines, worked for Railway Express Agency, Rock Island Railroad and Gilliam Bros. Concrete, coached baseball and softball and was a member of the Cairo Volunteer Fire Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Callie Welch, his son; Raymond Glen Welch and grandson; Matthew Ryan Welch.
Loving survivors include his beloved wife and best friend, Martha Lois Welch, daughters and son-in-laws; Carolyn and Ron Boshears, Anne and Dr. Joe Edwards and Rosemary Ward, all of Hot Springs, Ar. and special nephew Charles (Corkey) Welch, and his family, Catherine, Charles (Katie) and Nikki, of Smyrna , Ga., one brother Louie Welch, six grandchildren, Ret Turner, Robin Orr, Kevin Kingrey, Charlie Edwards, Jessica Ward and Amber Spencer, eight great-grandchildren, Sebastian Turner, Alysa Jane Orr, Katie Warner, Cameron Kingrey, Anna Gale Kingrey, Will Ward, Cyler Spencer and Winnie Rose Spencer.
Wilmor's life passion was teaching and mentoring kids in baseball and softball. He made a huge impact on a lot of kids lives and he loved every one of them. The family would life to extend a special thanks to Dr. Manjusha Kota and Dierksen Hospice for their loving care of our Father.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 12-1 p.m. with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Perry's Funeral Chapels. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Mt. Holly, Ar. with Bro. Milton Paredes officiating and Words of Reflection by Corkey Welch, Steve Davis, Oliver Muckelrath and Kevin Kingery. Pallbearers will be Robert Murphy, Kenneth Murphy, Steve Davis, Ron Welch, Kevin Kingrey and Oliver Muckelrath. Honorary Pallbearers are special friend Byron Blackerby and members of the Cairo Volunteer Fire Department.
