Obituary
Zelda Inez Garner, 97, of Strong, passed away on Thursday July 6, 2017 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
She was born on December 19, 1919 in Strong, AR to the late Henry Thomas and Julia Margaret Jones Hendrix. She was a member of Lapile Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Laz Garner; sons, Kenneth and Paul Garner; brothers, Ace and Harvel Hendrix; and sisters, Cleo Watkins, Eleanor Johnson, and Laura McKinnon.
Mrs. Garner is survived by sons, Thomas W. Garner (Betty) and Gene Garner (Brenda); daughter, Judy Jackson (Jerry); nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren and a dear friend and second daughter, Billie Faye Upton.
Visitation will be held at New London Baptist Church from 5-9 PM on Saturday July 8, 2017.
Services will be held at New London Baptist Church on Sunday July 9, 2017 at 2 PM with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Teel Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers: Jerrod Jackson, Ellis Hunt, Tommy Garner, Clyde Upton, Russell Garner, Zack Garner and Mitchell Shelby.
